The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) hosted open houses to gather feedback from the community for proposed landscaping of the Overland project on July 13, 2017 and March 29, 2018 at the FDOT’s Training Center Building (2198 Edison Avenue, Jacksonville, Florida 32204).

Interested citizens attended to learn more about the landscaping project and to provide feedback to FDOT staff and project design consultants who were available to answer questions regarding the proposed project. The open houses were informal events with conceptual landscape plans available and no formal presentations.

The landscaping project will include plantings of numerous species of trees and shrubs, irrigation and other incidental work relating to the overall landscape for the downtown Interstate 95 corridor. The proposed landscaping project has been developed through District Two’s FDOTree program, a new initiative developed to promote communication and delivery of the Florida Department of Transportation’s Northeast Florida landscaping program.
